Barred Owl Chorus

Chickasawhatchee Swamp, Georgia.

In March of 2003 my friend and colleague Bernie Krause invited me to join him in the field to record the sounds of the various habitats along the Flint River watershed in Georgia. We were there to collect recordings for the Flint River Center in Albany, Georgia. This is a picture I took and an audio sample of one site we recorded at in the Chickasawhatchee Wildlife Management Area. The audio sample features a chorus of Barred Owls among various other species of birds. Together they create the rich biophony unique to this cypress swamp habitat.
